Because Bihar deserves better makhana.

Bihar produces over 90% of the world's makhana. Yet most of what reaches the market is mixed, over-processed, or flavoured with cheap artificial powders. That didn't sit right with us.

PondHive Foods started with a simple idea — what if we sourced directly from the farmers who grow makhana in the pokhars of Mithila, and delivered plain makhana the way it deserves to be?

The harvested seeds are spread out and dried under the Bihar sun. Then they are carefully sorted by size and quality. Only the best seeds make it to the next stage.
